Film Summary CVII (Rock & Rule)

In a strange mystical world after the events of World War 3* a new wave Rock'roll man wants to acquire mystical energy from some chicks voice to bring a demon from hell to do his bidding, whatever that bidding is. Never really specified why he wants it he proclaims he wants world power but as far as I'm concerned the demon probably would just kill him, that doesn't matter nobody ever said that evil was smart.
I wasn't expecting to have a three stooges routine in this movie either or they're very "bubbly" sister what's that weird New Yorker accent, dancing around on roller skates (how's that for an eighties stereotype)

I could say this movie is a rip off of Star Wars but you know what! To hell with Star Wars, why do they deserve to have the simplest story trope all to themselves? There weren't the first ones to do it, there just a rip-off of Dune.

I love how there's a sleazy mouse that kind of looks like Mickey Mouse mixed with the actual face of Walt Disney that's a nice little mockery. Funny thing is I'm pretty sure whoever made a "Goofy Movie" in 96 got their inspiration from this film because the animation looks the same, characters are the same even the way the story progresses is the same.

There's some pretty interesting animation here it's cheap but it looks really good lots of Dark Shades and bright light colors mix it in with some surreal late seventies punk music and the beginning of new age pop music and you've got yourself a fairly entertaining little film.
Really it's the voice talents of blank and Susan Roman that really make this movie come together. Susan Roman
played a number of roles in the X-Men 90s cartoon series and she was Sailor Jupiter from Sailor Moon.

It's a lot better than most of the other adult orientated cartoons of the time like 'Fire and Ice' and that 'Heavy Metal' movie both have interesting animation but their stories are lacking, it really leaves something to be desired.

*the atmosphere in this film gives off of very Escape From New York feel especially given the passage of time and references to World War 3. which I like because now I can link the same with other movies.
