Film Summary CXXXVIII (The Piano)

I should have known that doing a Sam Neill week would lead to many films full of despair. To put it simply this film breaks at least 4 (possibly 5) Commandments*. Why is it that if you make a movie based around a stringed instrument miserable things are bound to happen?

As you can see I'm not really talking about the story, if you've read any of my ''Film Summaries'' (not that I think anyone actually reads these) than you know that this film probably has an interesting or halfway decent plot, a lot of times involving some sort of Mystery.

Holly Hunter, Sam Neill and Harvey Keitel are all spectacular in this film.

Which is really saying something as if you're anything like me you'll probably hate all three of these people at the end of this film.
On another more random note you get to see all three of their butts in this movie and that's as close as happy or funny as I'm going to get with this.
In short I recommend this movie despite the fact that much of it is depressing. If you're a fan of drama and romance** there's something for you here.

*Not that the Bible has any moral high ground, just read about Lot in Leviticus or read the latter half of Judges.

**Keep in mind when I say ''Romance'' I'm referring to the 'how you would say breaking the VIII commandant of God kind of Romance'.
