Film Summary CLIV (The Godfather part III)

Most of the good actors are gone and the few we have left are old.

just gets harder and harder to keep up the momentum. it also doesn't help that you don't have a strong setup or many strong characters, not to mention Sofia Coppola acting this just downright bad in this movie. too bad The Godfather 3 is not a bad movie it's just mediocre when you compare it to the rest.

So back in middle school I walked past a religious class teching Roman Catholicism (because it's a Roman Catholic School) and I noticed the kids were watching of all movies 'Godfather 3' at first I was wondering, 'why the hell would you be watching Godfather 3 in Middle School religious class?' turns out the whole class was based on the idea that the Vatican was not in some way connected with the mafia. it gave me a good laugh.

The funniest thing is in real life the Roman Catholic Church was associated with the Italian mafia from time to time. the most famous of which was probably when the Communists were trying to conquer Sicily via the Democratic vote.

The Vatican in a lot of ways was trying to keep the Christian democrats in Power. The majority of Sicily did vote for the Communists, not because of some weird loyalty to that ideology but because they were promised land and material.
it's a great irony that the most conservative people in all of Italy voted for communism which is especially surprising when you consider the fact that if you were to tell these people to find Russia on a map they probably wouldn't have been able to do it, they had no care or interest for most of the outside world "at the time at least''
