Film Summary CXLVIII (Turbo Kid)

Absolutely magnificent, Splendid piece of Cinema! from the characters to the environment, even the effects both cheesy and hyper over-the-top practical gor!

It's as if someone took Mad Max, Spider-Man, Tron and Kill Bill stuffed them all into a blender and then garnish the mix with a bit of Robocop. With a new wave synthesizer retro soundtrack.

Proof that modern film can have fun. it's been a while since I've seen any fun in the modern movies, they all take themselves so freaking seriously, even the movies with costume characters. I mean come on you're wearing spandex for god sakes have some fun.

It's a pretty basic story, kid surviving in the wild it's the post-apocalyptic world, he meets a Nutty Buddy girl with really blonde hair, is incredibly friendly and overall was just amazing to watch act on screen. there's another guy kind of resembles a Mad Max meets Wolverine kind of character whos in arm wrestling competitions and then there's a bunch of evil dudes that look like Lord humongous. As you can imagine hijinks ensue. Probably the best canadian-made movie in over 10 years.

Oh and 'Escape to New York' lots of influence from 'Escape to New York'
