Very important lesson should be learned here, make sure you know what version of a movie you're about to watch, because I thought I had the normal 'Apocalypse Now' turns out I have the Redux version. With a running time of about 3 hours and 20 minutes not a smart movie to start watching at 9 o'clock at night.
A man spends 3 hours traveling up a river just to get yelled at by some Frenchman, attacked by a tiger and here an anecdote about snails traveling on sharp objects.
Like an Energizer Bunny traveling on a razor blade it eventually rips itself apart but it just keeps going and going and going; 'much like this movie'
Fairy Tail wrapped up in barbed wire little elements of Truth littered throughout. it's a little Godfather reunion; Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, G. D. Spradlin.
I could give a bitter summary of the film but what's the point everybody knows what Apocalypse Now is one of those cultural icon films even if you've never seen it you would least know some of the major points like the Ride of the Valkyries with the helicopter or Marlon Brando trippy dialogue. Also I might be the only person that like the French Plantation section of the film which was an add-on from the original movie. It doesn't really work with in the film it drives the plot to a standstill and it doesn't feels off with the rest of the movie but it's still interesting to see a lot of influence from the original novel the movie was based off of ''Heart of Darkness.''
