Film Summary CLXIII (Among the Living)

Albert Dekker stars as both Paul and John Redan.

Two twin brothers separated at a young age by unfortunate circumstances.

The brother John had been placed in a boarding school after his other brother Paul witnessed the murder of his mother by the hands of his own father.
Paul was then put into a small room for over 25 years and the outside world is told that he died at the age of 10. His brother John is unaware of his existence and only finds out that he's alive after the death of his father and the murder of their servant (who Paul killed.) This leads to a whole story of Paul escapeing into a small town, but as you can imagine 25 years locked inside a single room doesn't do good for one social skills, so inevitably he ends up killing more people and trying to hook up with this weird girl. I can't decide if she likes the guy or is just using him for his money (I'm going to assume the latter.) luckily Paul stole a bunch of money from the house when he ran away so he's doing okay.

The brother John puts out a bounty on his lunatic brother under the instruction of their family physician a doctor that helped the brothers father to keep the boy inside the room for over 25 years( he may not be very good man).

The Bounty is for $5,000 and the entire town goes absolutely nuts over this, in truth they probably cause more property damage and broke more laws then the $5,000 could ever hope to repay for.
They end up capturing the brother John who they think is the murderer, because they're identical twins and also they can't tell the difference, they think the original brother Paul is dead so they want to accuse John of all the murders.

They get a judge to make a court case immediately and almost end up killing John on the spot, that's a great example of why you don't want mob rule because they'll just kill you even if you haven't done anything wrong.
