Film Summary CLXXIII (Reaching for the Moon)

Dancing girls for dancing clubs (that is to say real dancing girls not the ones that make money by doing ''other services'') but those who dance for the joy of dancing and compete on a national level.

One such girl in this dance club is Vivien Benton who has a bit of a run-in with a local business tycoon, the multi-millionaire Larry Day, she sees it as a bit of fun, he takes it a little too seriously.
this becomes a bit of a concern as Larry continuously tries to court the young lady despite her disinterest. Larry isn't really that bad of a guy, he's a fast talker and is very athletic always jumping from one place to the other like a pre-existing Spider-Man.
His intentions are noble the way he goes about it is a little confusing, he's inexperienced in the game for one, he spends all his days working not courting. And the middle of the film involves this strange alcoholic Elixir I think it's supposed to be a love potion but all it really seems to do is makes people's immediate emotion flare up, people become incredibly romantic or angry, happy or sad depending on what they're feeling at the time.
It also doesn't help that the young lady is engaged to another man a boring but nice Britsh gentleman and I feel really sorry for him, he just wanted to win the girls affection and in the end gets dumped and left in the cold. He didn't do anything wrong his only crime is that he wasn't that interesting.

It's a little difficult to talk about this film it's been cut down in certain spots and apparently it was supposed to be a musical which if you ask me would have been a great benefit to the film. It runs a little dry in the middle. really the best thing I can say about the movie is the set design nothing but art deco.
