At the beginning of the movie ''Dr. Strangelove'' there's a little warning that pops up saying that all the events that take place in the movie are fictitious and that there are safeguards put in place to ensure that such an outcome could never happen. I believe they should have taken that very same notice statement and stuck it at the beginning of this movie, because the outcome is so ludicrously ridiculous that it starts feeling like Naked Gun.
Not that you would need that much to stop these kids in the first place, just suspect them of drugs and have them go for a drug test. They'd fail it immediately and would be arrested for possession, never again able to even attempt the political life.
Have you ever wondered how Logan's Run came to be. Well we have the answer the origin story is right here.
Also why are you wondering that? Who cares how Logan's Run came to be or what the origins are. It really doesn't matter but it's people like you that create all this freakin prequel films. Now we have to know how everything came to be.
So there's this Punk kid who's part of the anti-culture down with the elderly, I'm going to rule the streets kind of mentality. But he decides to take this quite literally, convincing the youth of America to stand with him and find strange ways of altering Congress in order to lower the voting age to 14. Inevitably takeing over the entire country. He gets so ridiculous that he ends up having a bunch of black shirt Nazi fellas kidnapping old people and sticking them into concentration camps. Where they spend their days getting high off LSD, also there's a crap ton of rock music littered throughout the movie, it feels a bit like a Bollywood film.
Talk about a film that can only exist in a very particular era.
Right off the tail end of Lyndon Johnson and what would be the Kennedy Administration era and straight on through to the big old ''silent majority'' himself Richard Nixon.
Suck on that hippie Revolution.
