Film Summary CCV (Star Trek insurrection)

Star Trek insurrection the most ominous of all the Star Trek movies, classified many as being the worst the bottom the rotten apple of the bunch. I personally don't believe it deserves this title it's not the worst Star Trek movie it's not even amongst top two, though it might be the bronze medal. If anything it's bigist crime is just being boring. It's not that entertaining to watch, they're on one planet which they put no effort into making foreign and they deal with aliens that look more human than the Star Trek crew themselves.

And a large chunk of the movie is just Captain Picard trying to get his freak on with this weird hippie chick. Come the hell on that is the least interesting thing you could do in a movie and it's not like you can't put romance into Star Trek. The entire original series is just Kirk going from planet to planet spreading every STD known to man and possibly several other creatures with femaile populas.

The biggest weakness in this movie is the same as every other Star Trek next Generation film. Data and the actor who plays him, over-plays his role constantly he's too prominent in the movie, he's not Spock! He doesn't have any real characteristic to him, he's just kind of an annoying robot who ends up talking to an annoying kid for 20 God damn minutes. And then there's the entire plot itself; "we can't get rid of these small group of hippie assholes who aren't even native to the planet they might age and eventually die.'' Oh boo hoo they won't be immortal anymore, we have to keep a couple hippies alive who apparently reject technology (at least when it's convenient for them) because it's the morally right thing to do? There are millions upon millions of people dying in the Star Trek world right now they're at war with the Dominion (and they're losing!)

It really spits in the face of Star Trek II, you remember when Spock was dying and he said that famous line; ;The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.'' Well sorry Spock apparently they don't! Captain Picard needs to screw a strange hippie woman, so I'm afraid all the good you've done along with the countless good deeds, of the entire Federation mean nothing because there's a libido in Captain Picard's pants.
