we follow the adventures of a bunch of weird people including an aeroplane Captain. Who saw the UFO flying through the sky. He's a bit of a miss, he tells his wife about the UFO encounter and how he's very upset at the American Military. Who won't allow him to spread his story. Which come on, of course they're not going to do that. Why would they let you set the world in to panic just to tell a story.
Especially when you don't get much of it right. You said it was a cigar shaped object in the sky, you called it a flying saucer a minute ago. You got to make up your mind man.
Or no one's ever going to believe you.
I'm not entirely sure why, but the aliens have reanimated The Addams Family and they're sending them out to attack people in the graveyard.
Then the UFOs make themselves more known, they fly over Hollywood Los Angeles Washington DC. The military is called in and takes evasive action. As Colonel Edwards gives the order to attack. Then there's a conversation between him and one of the smaller soldiers about their other encounters with the UFOs and how they and try to more peaceful exchange of information. But such things are not meant to be and now we're off to the UFOs home Mothership. Where we get to see very human actors in shiny silver suit as alien overlords.
the aliens are very upset, why won't the Earth people give in? Why won't they do as they're told. They become so desperate they have to resort to 'Plan 9' to reanimate the corpses of the Dead.
The military picks up a communique of an alien message sent to the human race sometime ago. Proclaiming their dissatisfaction with discovery of atomic weapons.
Talk about an overused cliche; ''Man is not ready for the bomb''.
Plan 9 has to have some of the cheapest sets ever made for a motion picture. And I'm saying that in the context of other b-movies. In fact there's one scene on the alien spaceship where if you look to the corner you can see the instruments used on the cockpit from the airplane scene. It's all just one big stage where they focus the camera on one particular spot. And yet there's something in my arable about it, God knows their budget was Tiny.
I can't believe Lyle Talbot is in this. This is the man from ''Havana window'', ''20,000 Years in Sing Sing'' and 'Mandalay.'he was one of the greatest star acts of the 1930s! I guess Fame doesn't last forever.
