So you got Dan and sunny. Dan's the man from Smallville who wants to make it big in the ski game
and then there's sunny "gets thrown out of the truck because you wouldn't give head for a lousy ride."
anyways dance nights to give her a ride possibly out of pity. They spend the next few days driving about spending time and hotel rooms not having any sex mind you though they make enough jokes about it. And then for some reason they get to one hotel and Dan gives Sunny this awful Ukrainian jumper. Free dinner at a fancy restaurant which resembles a scene out of Days of Our Lives has the same stagnant camera angle awkward dark lighting. It just doesn't look right for a movie. Then we get our main antagonist ''Rudolph... something''. Dan tries to say hello to him but the guy just shoves them off and Sunny calls him a Nazi out of the gate, good to see we're getting straight to the point. Now we need to fill the running time; Let's have a wet t-shirt contest, some soft core nudity and then we'll have Dan playing the guitar and a sex scene afterwards.

Time for the game (not that anyone cares.)
certain people get to make the tournament other people don't one guy gets ticked off that there's too many Europeans because the Europeans of the ones sponsoring the freaking event. I mean what do you want them to do? They're the ones with the money if they don't get a few of their people in you don't have games at all. But that doesn't matter now there's a house party and a bunch of people getting together and some miscommunication happens and drama oh the drama. Also there's The Stereotype Japanese character, who I shall refer to as ''Japanese Wesley Crusher'' because they have the same wardrobe.
He's the ''Oh aren't thos Japanese funny'' kind of character. And he might be able to pull that off if he actually knew Japanese.
so dance having sex with this random woman and the girls Sunny that he was with decides to have sex with the German guy. And then later the German guy tells Dan and Dan gets all pissy about it. I fucking hate these kind of characters in movies, like you hypocritical son of a bitch, you have no right to be bitch about it, you slept with someone else, you ditched out on her first you stereotype piece of shit. To hell with the rest of this movie. The German guy wins! He gets the right to win, he's an asshole but he's talented, at least he's not a hypocrite.

Underneath it's Animal House veneer 'Hotdog' wants to be a dramatic Sports film. It wants you to root for the underdog character Dan and see him become Victorious. But it just can't pull it off. You have to spend time on character development (and that's proper character development), we need to understand their struggles, see where they're going, understand what makes them tick and then get a real comprehension for why they should win. That's why I'm Hoosiers work so well. It spends the majority of time focusing on the characters dilemma. It also helps the Gene Hackman is just one of the most charismatic actors in cinematic history.
My ass Dan's truck has a freaking cassette player in it. That thing looks like it's from the 1950s and I can't see him going through the trouble of installing one.
I don't know if the copy of the film I have is broken or if it's just the way it's supposed to sound. But the audio sounds all screwy. It's as if they overdubbed the entire movie, Now I know most films have the audio afterwards as to adjust it accordingly with the image. So they can auto-tune certain aspects and cut out any dirty sound. But that's supposed to make the film sound cleaner, not murky. It becomes noticeable problem in the dialogue scenes.
