Film Summary CCLXIV (Dead Space: Aftermath)

Another mining vessel heads out to the nowhere part of space in search of weird alien technology.
And apparently nobody learned from the last spaceship. Then again the Weird Science religious group knows all about the weird aliens and purposely sends people there to acquire that magic artifact. Or maybe just to get them infected by it, slide whaling Industries and alien. And much like alien this franchise shouldn't try and Branch out from its original concept. It gets a little weird.

But still the characters are very one-dimensional they don't have that great of a personality, and the overall story seems lacking. It's really hitting us on the head with the anti religious symbolism. Especially at the end with that one woman and they put her in the restraints and it literally in the shape of a cross. Subtlety is never been dead spaces speciality.

I would tell you about the characters but I can't remember any of their names. Because they're not that involved. Despite having the entire story narrated from their point of view. In fact I haven't the slightest bit of interest in this movie anymore. It's not even all that bad. It's like eating a pancake it'll fill you up but you're not going to remember it down the line.

You know what I'd like to see, a short animated special done on the Abe's Odyssey world. Not necessarily Abe himself because he's a bit simple and cartoony and his stories already been done. But that General world was fun and really cool to see. The dark atmospheres, the intriguing industrial plants. The escaping from your inevitable Doom as you're about to be eaten. And the music, the music in Abe's Oddysee was really freaking cool.

I will say the poster for this film is pretty cool. I love how the artifacts coming down to where the eye there's something so visually appealing about it, and yet unsettling at the same time. If only they could capture that in the film itself.
