Comic Summary II (Maximum Carnage ''Part5'')

Returning to a multi-part series after a month-long hiatus. Nothing wrong with that!

A little recap for anybody that starts reading here. A B-grade super villain by the name of Carnage breaks out of prison and decides to take this chick named shriek with him. The two of them will eventually find the villain named doppelganger who was some body's idea of literal Spider-Man. I would say he's a rip off of the Batman's Man-Bat but I'm not entirely sure which one came first.
As you can imagine this is causing quite a stir for Spider-Man who on top of having to deal with these ridiculous villains has to cope with the death of one of his best friends and former enemy Harry Osborn who would have been the second possibly third Green Goblin and a bunch of marriage problems with his wife Mary Jane. For this was back in the day when the two are still married (truly not all hope was lost)
Eventually Venom and black cats are going to get involved in the mix and join Spider-Man on his crusade to stop Carnage not without a lot of drama of course. And for some stupid reason Peter Parker's parents are alive and back in his life. Apparently they were victims of some Soviet prison camp. It's a really stupid B story and I never liked it.

So we start part 5 with a burning building as both the character Black Cat and Venom are about to be buried alive by the rebel. Spider-Man has to make a choice which one does he save.
Spider-Man not being a complete fool decides to save Blackcat. For one she's a safer bet, more valuable to Spider-Man and at the end of the day there is that Untold love connection between the two. Something that the comics can only really hint at, given that Spider-Man supposed to be a happily married man.
He's also smart enough to know that the fire won't kill Venom it'll just weaken him. And so it does Eddie Brock emerges from the fire badly hurt and humiliated for losing another fight with Carnage.
Now this is where the comic gets interesting. Venom stands back up and proclaims that he's going to fight Carnage yet again and nothings going to stop him, but this time Black-cat of all people decides to join him saying that the two must work together to stop this indestructible Force. Spider-Man as you can imagine is a little taken aback by this,
he doesn't believe in all out of violence. But the other two see this is a naïveté and decide to leave Spider-Man behind for their quest to fight the ever deadly Carnage.
Now Spider-Man is just exhausted. He decides the best course of action is to go and see Aunt May in hopes of getting a little advice. She tries to inform them if there's always good in the world and that we can't let the evils ever overtake us regardless of how bad it might seem. Peter's father has a bit of a different opinion suffering many years under the Communist Regime he's become a bit jaded and believes that all morality is a mirror facade.

Now Spider-Man is swinging for the ever decaying City. Criminals are running amok, Carnage is causing mayhem and the people themselves are starting to crack under the pressure. This causes such an Affliction within Spider-Man that he finally decides violence is the only viable solution, From now on he'll stop at nothing to destroy Carnage and his roaming gang of death.

I'd like to say that this comic left me on a good Cliffhanger but I haven't read the thing in over a month. So clearly something isn't sticking. Now I'm going to have to force myself to read the next chapter. Here's hoping it can rejuvenate my interest in this series.
