Comic Summary VIII (Archie Giant Series Magazine #241)

What better way to enjoy Christmas than with an Archie comic.

That is an Archie comic based around his ever-changing girlfriends Betty and Veronica. Who I found fare more interesting to read than Archie himself. That's nothing against Archie but he's a bit simplistic man. He has no real interest in life, he just kind of goes with things.
Where as Betty and Veronica had a bit more maturity to them and their personalities are bit more developed. There often at odds with one another. Come to think of it Betty and Veronica make pretty good friends. They don't agree on a lot of things, they're fighting over the same boyfriend,
Their financial situations are different. And yet they're still friends, they've kept a strong relationship going for over 50 years.

So most the stories are about your typical Christmas morality. Spread the give to charity throughout the year, be kind to those around you, don't get your gifts wrapped at a gift wrapping store because it comes off as Shameless and uninteresting, then discovered later on that the two girls you're interested in did it anyways with the gifts you gave them cuz they were too lazy to wrap them ourselves, do to the fact that you're a useless idiot who doesn't know how the hell to do anything right. But yet somehow continuously ends up with two fairly attractive women as girlfriend's.

The real interest in this comic isn't the stories themselves but the amusing advertisements that came with them. Such as this one for a magical Hawaii plant. It has Voodoo Powers, now let's forget that Voodoo is a combination of African spiritual religion mixed in with Roman Catholicism spread to various African tribes as a way to continuously worship their gods Within the monotheistic Christian faith. But that's look at the fact that said Voodoo is being applied to Hawaii.
Because it's a fill in the blank strange and foreign concept to most the people of the day. Kind of like the magic phrase ''Abracadabra''. Which in reality is an Aramaic expression.

As you can tell by my previous paragraphs there's not a lot to say here. It's not that the Archie Comics are boring there just simplistic. To relay the story to you would be the equivalent of telling you of someone today. You don't want to hear it. You're just happy that the day turned out well.
The only story that was slightly interesting was the last one. Archie and Jughead show up to decorate Veronica's Christmas tree. Which is something that Veronica and Betty don't want them to do. For one thing it's cutting into the girls personal time to spend with one another. Archie and Jughead are complete idiots who have no idea how to decorate a tree. But Veronica prepared for this contingency and purposely bought fake and cheap ornaments for Archie and his idiot friend to put on the tree. Once they leave the house their ornaments are taken down and the tree can be decorated by people with style.
Archie breaks a ton of a Christmas decorations in this story, which is a real jerk move if you ask me. They're not his things to break and yet he seems indifferent to the whole thing. Also he's a real jerk on the cover up this comic too. It's clear that he's on a date with Veronica but as he's going down the escalator he kisses Betty! Shame on you Archie! That's a real disrespectful thing to do. And shame on you to Betty! You should know better, you're supposed to be the kind one of the three.
