Film Summary CCCI (Our Mr. Sun)

It's a good thing I found this documentary. Before this I wasn't all that sure what to make of the Great glowing ball of Fire in the Sky. All I knew is that everyday it would have been truly leave us and go Beyond the Horizon sinking away never to be seen again, or at least for another 8 hours sometimes 12 in those horrible winter days.
But now I know better. With the help of Eddie Albert and Dr. Frank C Baxter I Now understand what the Sun is. Which is a good thing, now the paranoias of night time can be forgotten and I can live in a more peaceful State of Mind. No longer dependent on the moon* that's subpar ball in the sky.

What we have here is a great little documentary. It gives you the basic facts about the Sun in an enjoyable fashion. Are actor and our scientist or actually reacting with the sun whose personified as a cartoon character who also happens to be talking with Father Time. The sun is portrayed as a voicetress, romantic completely obsessed with his self image and absolutely begging for praise.

It's quite the fun little film. It has the actors interacting with the cartoon Sun and they're relaying the information to him. You see the sun's been a little disheartened with Humanity they no longer worship him as they had done in the old days. Back when Mithra, Ra and Apollo were the talk of the town. He thinks the scientific world views him is nothing more than facts, papers an object for observation and nothing more.
I'll say that I was a bit surprised that I actually learned a few things about the sun in this little documentary such as the proper function of fusion and that the sons external temperature on the surface is actually cooler than the temperature some million miles off the sun itself. Or that the equator actually moves faster than the rest of the planet. This documentary doesn't have an answer for why these things are but it's still nice to see them brought up none the less.

It's also fun to know that this film was directed by Frank Capra . he was the director on such famous films as It's a Wonderful Life and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. The man himself probably more interesting than half the films he's ever made. A true definition of the American dream.

It's a surprisingly funny little film too, it's a very safe for work kind of movie with the kinds of lines it'll give you a slight chuckle. It's definitely worth a watch if you can find it. Which shouldn't be too hard, not only is it prominent on YouTube but it's actually part of the public domain website. So in a fact it's free.

*You know that darn Moon thinks it's so great. Oh I have a Japanese school girl who fights in my honor. I have a magical horse who controls my movement. There's a ditzy blonde girl at a Harry Potter School who Bears my name. Look at me with my fancy Jewish calendar! What the heck with you Moon you're not as cool as the sun you wouldn't even be seen without the Sun.

Disclaimer: I like the Jewish calendar and I like most lunar calendar in general. There for more interesting to keep a tab on than the sun calendar which is a bit more stagnant if not secure.

Go learn about the Sun
