Film Summary CCXCV (Five For Hell)

Well sweet Jennifer Bells ... This is. Weird. We start off with a bunch of explosions a group of military men engaged in knife training combat and that weird sound you get from an elastic band somebody makes when they're in a western movie. Along with some Clint Eastwood looking guy who's doing a John Wayne impression.

I don't know who did the audio work the whole thing is badly dubbed. It's like when you watch one of those badly dubbed Italian films and you know the people talking over them aren't saying anything remotely similar to what the actual Actor on screen is saying.

Okay so it turns out this is an italian-made film. Or if not italian-made it's definitely got Italian Direction. The ''director'' is a guy called Frank Kramer whose real name is Gianfranco Parolini.

A group of American soldiers that go into enemy soil to capture plans about a surprise attack that's going to take place in North Africa . It's your typical group of badass Americans go into the enemy territory and blow the ever-loving hell out of everything. There's more explosions and you know what to do with.

Really the whole things done in the vein of ''Where Eagles Dare''. But where that movie had Superior actors, great music and wonderful set design this movie has subpar actors, no good music and to be honest okay set design.

But the only person worth giving a damn about his Klaus Kinski and he's playing our main villain. An over the top cheesy SS officer whose literal introduction involves two German Shepherds attacking a cat. It's him and this undercover woman (that's pretending to be a secretary) and their interaction with one another. The actual so-called heroes are a boring set of idiots. We can't be bothered to care about them. Then you add on the bed dubbing which takes away any real acting these people have and your left with a stale in-different group of people. There's no point to watch this when the 'Dirty Dozen' exist.

Really the main problem is the film doesn't get silly enough. The beginning of it gives you the illusion that you're going to be watching us slapstick over the top comedy where there's no real rules to anything and it's meant to be pure enjoyment. But we have a dose of reality starts to seep into the film bit by bit and you're left with these oddball goofballs who don't fit in with the rest of their environment.
I think what upsets me the most is that there's a decent movie in here. And perhaps that movie exists in it's Italian language but that English dubbing really does your head in.

At some point are American (Italians) meet up with the undercover woman. They tell her of their plans. The only interesting part is are undercover woman has to deactivate the security alarm that's in the SS Captain's bedroom and she tries to seduce him. As you can imagine the whole thing goes about as well as you think it would. Trouble gets brewed, the Americans have to fight their way in with lots of guns and explosions and inevitably get out with the documents.

Best thing about this movie is the poster.
