Twaddling of Anethum 1 (Ash Ketchum ''And a world of Monsters'')

So there's this weird kid named Ash who's wondering around the world armed with an assortment of dangerous animals that he uses to fight other dangerous animals.

His dream in life is to become the ultimate Pokemon champion. ''What is a Pokemon champion?''

Well some people seem to think that finding all the Pokemon makes you the champion. Others speculate that defeating all the Pokemon makes you the champion, and still another group would have you believe that stealing all the Pokemon makes you a champion.
I don't know if any of this is true as it seems an impossible goal. Every couple of years another hundred of the little fur-balls up out of nowhere.
People mysteriously react to them as if they had been there from the beginning. Originally they were nothing more than common household pest. Roaming around in grass and occasionally eating from a dumpster. Think of raccoon with 15000 volts of electricity running through it veins.
But now they hold far greater importance. As some of them have been endowed with the power of Gods. Some have even come into possession of their own shops and others still join criminal organisations to acquire capital gain.
And a strange few talk to rocks. tho in this universe those rocks may very well be their own Pokemon.

But regardless of all that the universe as a whole seems to focus on a strange 10 year old boy who like the mythical Don Quixote has gone mad with delusions. Unlike Don Quixote (a wise old man who became corrupted by books of chivalry) this child was raised from an early age to believe that he must conquer all the monsters and that getting in other people's way is but a small price to pay.

One of the first victims of this boy's unfortunate Adventure is a young girl by the name of Misty. She gets her bike stolen by the boy, who then proceeds to blow it up. Furious she'll follow the boy around for a couple of days until she inevitably catches him. Demanding pay for the damages done her. But lunacy has a way of spreading and Misty is convinced to aid the boy on his Grand Adventures for at least 8 years. Only then dose she require finance for her bike, and by this point she's become quite fond of him and is depressed to see him not only disinterested in her departure but completely indifferent to the friendship that has grown over the years. He pays her for the bike and then goes on his way. For the love of a woman shall never surpass the gluttony of the Pokemon.

Perhaps the boy could have been cured of his demons in the early days if not the poking and prodding of an equally insane group of Bandits hell-bent of stealing his rodent (the famed Pikachu)
They called themselves Team Rocket, they have with them a weather balloon, a talking cat, a catchy intro and an abundance of roses that never cease. Really they as if they belong in a Sailor Moon story.
They spend every moment of every day plotting to steal the little yellow Mouse. So that they may introduce it their boss an Italian mafioso who spends his days breeding psychic monsters to take over the world. Sometimes I often wonder if this team is even working for the Italian mafia, they seem to have very little connection with them. However they have much Finance as their equipment is constantly destroyed by the very yellow rodent they failed the catch.

Truly the most interesting thing about this Pokemon world is how every other character unrelated to Ash Ketchum is far more interesting than him. Misty is a more developed character with motivations and a genuine life goal. The villains Team Rocket are more idiosyncratic and Charming. There even given interesting back stories that show how they became entangled in the world of organized crime. Even their Pokemon is more interesting than ashes Mouse. Meowth is a talking cat who only acquired the gift of human speech so he may impress a dazzling feline who rejects he's love in response to a larger Cat.

There is no rest for the gifted, only strife and displeasure.
