I feel kind of weird making a joke summary where I talked about how great this movie is considering I literally just talked about a really great movie. So it almost sounds like I'm demeaning myself by saying everything I watch is great. Unfortunately that's not the case. A lot of the films I've seen recently have either been sub par or bad. So having this and The Promise be my movies for the day was really good. I like these both for very different reasons. Seriously go watch ''The Promise''
Truly inspirational.
My Faith in the mighty Jesus has been restored. Thanks to the glory and greatness of this film for teaching me and keeping me on the right track. Never again will I feel the pain of loneliness that subsides within my heart because of my disbelief in God. A non-existing sky deity made by a group of Canaanites thousands of years ago so that they had an excuse to sacrifice their first born child to ensure the greatness of their corn. Or was that Jesus who was the corn God?
But really for a small independent film this is surprisingly good. At no point does it get tedious. The jokes are legitimately funny and the Oddball humour will keep you amused all the time. Everyone's acting is kind of broken but brilliant at the same time. If there was a positive and negative charge that represented good and bad films than this would be right in the middle constantly balancing constantly amusing.
I would put this above Kung Fury and all those other joke videos that are out there. This is Italian Spider-Man territory. And there are few things in the world that I would ever give such a high Prestige too.
Also this movie maintains the theory I came up with a couple years ago that all great movies have either a room smashing scene or a monkey in it. And this film did not disappoint.
I was expecting the whole routine to get kind of old after about 2 minutes. But they kind of kept going. I even found myself liking some of the characters. I'm kind of sad that the School shooters died at the end. I was rooting for them.
It's one of those weird videos were your laughing at the whole time but you're also really uncomfortable with how sadly true half of it is. Like the religious zealous schools that don't teach you anything and would throw anyone out the door immediately if they don't convert to their way of thinking. Or how a lack of interest, income and general care leads to a group of students ostracised by the world who go on to do horrible things and dust perpetuate the entire problem farther.
Or hey, if none of that sounds like your cup of tea or you just don't want to think about that you can look at it as nothing more than a satire on movie tropes and overused ideas. Like stopping on a character and having them introduce themselves and explain how they got to their current situation.
I'm just going to put it out right now Vincent and Fabulous Feline are the greatest characters I've seen in some time. (At least in a comedy). I genuinely wanted to see more of them and I want to see more of their exploits wherever the hell they are. I guess they're in hell now. Because in this universe God exists. And he's a complete and utter ass hole. Which means he's completely accurate with how we would have been in the Old Testament and most of the new for that matter.
Also I get this whole movie was just a mockery of Cool Cat. Created by that Daddy Derek guy who said he was actually going to make this movie ''Cool cat saves kids from shooting or some such nonsense''. But then he got a bunch of money and decided not to. That guy is something of a scum. This guy who made this monkey movie on the other hand seems pretty good. He did it cheaper, he did it better and I don't think he screwed anyone over in the long run either. Oh and he didn't actually have a real gun at any point and accidentally almost shoot his camera man.
