Computer Game Summary XXXVII (Alien Crush)

Well didn't I just have the find of the century.
Initially I was looking for Alien themed games as there's one in the future I wish to talk about.
But I figured I might as well pepper the rest of my alien viewing experience with a few other games.

Sadly many of them are far too modern and take up far too much time for me to be able to properly experience them within such a small schedule.
So I have to look far and wide for interesting alien games that were considerably older and considerably short.
This really limits our options, especially when you don't want to go back to playing Atari 2600 games. Theres one  involving an alien looking puzzle room scenario that was way too complicated for my stupid squishy brain to comprehend.
If I'm going to waste my time investing in the game mechanics I'd rather play XCOM, Crusader Kings or possibly one of those early 90s submarine simulators. (Oh I'll get back to those one day)

The disorientation isn't the problem most of the time, it only becomes a slight issue when you have to bounce between the top part of the screen and the bottom part of the screen.

I guess the overall board was just a little too big to capture properly on screen or they want you to get a better chance to see the action.
So they divide the screen between two different intervals.

But while crossing from one screen to the next you get this one frame worth of dead space where you don't see anything. It can be a little annoying on the old eyes as your ball constantly jumps between the two screens as it's bouncing on a certain pillar.

There's also a scene later on where you can go into a secret room and there's so many little floating enemies on-screen you can't see your own ball.
So the chances of failing there is really high.
But otherwise it's a fairly enjoyable pinball experience.

Points are satisfying to rack up, the game doesn't feel cheap or unforgiving. In fact it almost feels a little too forgiving as I'm pretty sure my paddle hit the ball a few times when it clearly shouldn't.
But I'll take a game giving me one too many chances over a pinball game.

It's just fun and surreal and it's really worth your time.
