Film Summary DLXII (Deewana) Part 2

This movie got weird(er)

Kajal is now a widow along with her mother-in-law. The two of them were able to escape from there currents imprisonment with the help of this one servant who changed sides and leaved them out of their estate.
They then just end up in the city talking to a lawyer that rearranges a contract so that their evil Uncle can't take control of the house.

In a way the film could have ended here. Or turn into a completely different film by having our to surviving characters finding a way to confront their uncle so they can get there home back.

But instead we get this new character who turns into the second love interest for Kajal. So that you can essentially relive all of her previous problems over again.
Only this time it's a bit more creepy.
He accidentally hits her mother-in-law to with a bike.

As he's getting arrested for a hit-and-run. He then looks over to Kajal and mediately falls in love with her.
She's crying her eyes out and hates the man because. well. He just hit her mother-in-law!! \
But that doesn't seem to phase the guy.
He decides that not only does he want it find out more about this girl, but he's going to stalk her as well.
He hires a gang of his friends to try and kidnap her and then later on when he tells his father that he wishes to marry the girl, he (The father) becomes so disgusted that he hires a group of goons to smash up in their home to try and interrogate them to leave.
Honestly this poor girl is just having a hell of a time and having this new creepy guy trying to get interested in her just isn't helping.

As time goes on and she falls for him (or maybe she just gets married to a matter of fear).
I guess his constant badgering eventually wins her over? It doesn't really matter.
She has to go through another romantic dialogues of the two of them so they can have a happy musical scenes and we can have another weird montage of a guy falling head over heels for a girl that he really shouldn't have in the first place. Getting interrupted by an extremely dramatic moment.
In this case it's the return of Ravi. And he's not a ghost.
He's just alive for some reason.
I guess he wasn't killed from him his fatal gun wounds and a bunch of other people saved him.
Good job on Kajai part for not checking in on the guy.

Oh why am I bad mouthing the poor girl. She doesn't need that extra harassment.
In fact that's maybe half the reason this film works out so well. The second protagonist is a kind of creepy guy but the movie feels disconnected with reality, so we kind of stopped caring about any of that. You just go along for the ride so you can enjoy the music and the almost soap opera levels of acting.
Still doesn't mean that I completely agree with it though.
I don't like movies that create stalker-ish characters and try to make us like them.
It didn't work for 'The Gay Divorce' and it doesn't really work here either.
Just have a character be less creepy with their interests. Maybe have them try to talk to the person they like and engage in interesting conversations. Win the Girl (or Boy) with personality.

So there's a bit of silly drama between all of our key characters that their reintroduce to each other and you think there be a big monologue between the two main love interest for the same girl but they don't go in that direction.
The one guy who originally loved the girl just kind of gives up and leaves of his mother.
And the only reason he meets up with any of the people afterwards because the ''evil'' Uncle from earlier shows back up into the plot kidnaps the girl and the second love interest guy and then ends in a big fight scene between our two main leads the evil uncle and an explosive dynamite charge that conveniently kills the first Romance a second time. Thus wrapping everything up in a really nice and really dumb bow.

Overall it's a really fun movie. The acting is dramatic and fun. The dance numbers are absolutely fantastic and the costume design. Sweet God the costume design in this movie is beautiful.
It's half the reason to watch the film.
But the overall plots just not overly engaging and the creepy aspects of #2 love interests are a bit of a letdown.
I really wish the evil uncle had a more Central plot within the film. Even though you could have removed his plot all together and the movie wouldn't have suffered.
It's either one of the other. Either make his conflict the actual issue of the movie or take them out altogether.

Also I wondered if our main actress would have had a chance to evolve as a character.
She does not.
In fact she becomes a far lesser character in the second half of the movie that she just becomes a mopey diss-interesting lady who just kind of goes along with things and has no personality.
In the first half of the movie she was a bit of a go-getter and always threaten to kill people if ever she was upset. She had friends and interests and was actually engaged with the love story.
