Film Summary DCV (Wizards)

Wizards. A strange World in where technology and Magic Collide. Or so they claimed the technology and Magic collide. But the technological users have tons of magic. They're led by a guy who uses Magic. And the magical fairies have all kinds of little technological dodads.

The story also claims that their millions of years into the future. Well beyond the scope of time that Humanity has disappeared. Most likely due to Atomic Wrath.
But it's a bit silly as absolutely none of the film has any connection to the real world. With the one-off exception of Adolf Hitler's propaganda videos. Yeah that's an actual plot Point within the movie.

This evil wizard dude has a bunch of Nazi swastikas and other fascist memorabilia lying around and uses it for his army and then find an old recording of Hitler giving off one of his grandiose peaches wild the luftwaffe and a bunch of other German military units invade various countries.
This sends the fairies into a frenzy who become Shell Shocked and it makes the enemy monsters all the more powerful.
It is in itself a magical tool to be used by the evil forces.

I would call it the world's stupidest plot point if a real world Nazi propaganda wasn't so dang influential with a bunch of modern idiots.
It's like watching what neo-nazis do today only they look like literal monsters as opposed to the theoretical monsters they actually are.
But none of this matters.
The film is a classic Good vs Evil magical story only it has no strong characters and our main wizard is this kind of drum doubt Old Hippie whose primary interest in life seem to be hooking up with this random fairy girl who may or may not be the queen of some mysterious Kingdom.

There's so many little plot points have in the movie that just don't go anywhere. It seems to be more of a set piece.
It wants to show you all kinds of really Kick-Ass looking paintings and background drawings made by various talented artist. Then just kind of works a story around these backdrops. It doesn't work too badly if you're just coming here for the art. But if you want a more coherent story you might want to find a better film.

Personally I would have preferred a movie revolving around the two bumbling soldiers who pop up in the story from time to time.
They were the only two characters in the whole film that felt like they had any real character. And it would have been nice to just seeing where they were Adventures that taken them. It's implied at the end of the film that they probably died along with the rest of the monsters as we never see them again after a certain point.

People who made this movie really like Alexander Nevsky. They use so many scenes from that old Soviet film. Every time there's a major battle you can see them superimposed over some fog effects or weird Late Show gimmick.
It looks kind of cool but it also comes off as slightly lazy.
Also the Nazi imagery in the film is kind of off-putting at points. It's one thing just to have one of your random goons with a swastika. It's entirely another to have a piece of meat hanging in the air that one of your monsters eating it. Than spinning it around to show the Star of David on.
Implying that they're hunting down some remnant of Jewish people. I'm not sure what the hell they meant by that scene but it comes off as super tasteless.
Especially because there's no other point in this movie that does anything like that.

I wouldn't be so bothered by that but you haven't seen later on where these two religious people are shown as being buffoons and it kind of dancing around like a stereotypical rabbi. And you're meant to be laughing at these people because they have the gall to have belief and some established old religion.
You might think the film was trying to make a statement about religion but it doesn't make a lot of sense given that the rest of the film is dedicated to this idea that the technology of man is evil and only the Whimsical good of Mother Nature is good.
You're just replacing one form of relief for another.
