Television Summary XXXIII (Hamtaro: Much Ado About School!)

We're at the end of summer vacation.
Will that happen quickly.
It took Digimon an entire season to get to that point.

Anyways with summer vacation ending Laura has to head back to school.
She's very happily proclaims that she gets to see Mr. Yoshi again.
Hamtaro has no conception of who that is.
He thinks it might be a rival hamster that she takes care of while at school.
So he decides to run off and sneak into her bag so that he can get to the school and find out for himself.
While making his way there, he'll run across boss and Oxnard. who become very dismayed at him for not greeting them when they said hello.
For some reason they also decide to join him in the school adventure and the three of them had off snuggled inside Laura's pan bag.

From here the three little hamsters end up in the school and discover that Mr. Yoshi is in fact just another human.
But Hamtaro was still not convinced. Thinking that he's some sort of ''fake''. So he jumps out of Laura's bag and decides to follow Mr. Yoshi
Leaving Oxnard and Boss to scramble about and join him on his newfound Adventure as they don't want to be separated and are already freaking out at their new environment.
From this point on the three little hamsters will run around freely trying to discern who this new guy is, while Oxnard and Boss try to convince Hamtaro that there is no other hamster.

The three of them are almost spotted out in the open when they decide to stand next to a little toy as to blend in with their environment.
Luckily Mr. Yoshi (despite being a teacher) doesn't seem to be all that bright of a man and just assumes the three of them to be toys.
Afterwards the three little hamsters are running through the ventilation systems before coming across Laura's classroom. Where they see Mr Yoshi teaching. It's only from this point on that Hamtaro was finally convinced that there is no other hamster.

But at this point those thoughts have left his head and he's now more interested in the concept School, He decides to take this concept back to the clubhouse where he can introduce it's all the other hamsters so they can start up their own little Ham-ham School.

How they get back home is beyond me, as they had to go with Laura to get to the school but then miraculously just show up at the ham ham club the next scene.

From here on all the little hamsters have a conversation about this concept of school and the one educated hamster Maxwell decides that he'll be the teacher, so they get about setting up their own unique little classroom and having little sessions rung in by an oversized bell. They then attempt to learn a lesson but find it incredibly difficult as hamsters have little to no attention for conventional education.

After this (less than) successful classroom session they decide to take a class at PE. Where all the little hamsters play football. This escalates into an argument as several two hamsters are unaware of the rules and one of them doesn't want to follow the penalty of the red card. Boss becomes angry because he keeps forgetting to eat.
He states earlier that he keeps hoping for lunch break as he hears it's another thing that they do in school.
The whole thing inevitably works out as all the hamsters get over their problems and they move on to music class. With a very confusing Hamtaro theme song, which just sounds like gloating for Hamtaro himself.
Obviously they're just going with whatever song they have in the actual show. But it always comes off kind of strange when you see it pop up in the episode legitimately.
To go back to Digimon again; they had this happened to when the character Mimi sings the end credits song in a karaoke competition.
Although at least that song doesn't have any of the actual characters names in it. And now I'm getting too hung up on a silly song being performed by a bunch of hamsters at the end of an episode.

This episode was surprisingly fun. It's filler even by the standards of a Hamtaro. But it's at least filled up with content.
It ultimately doesn't go anywhere but it's an amusing little romp of cute little rodents just running around. (That could sell out every episode)
And oh my Lord all the male hamsters are just crushing over all the little female hamsters this episode. Usually there's a one-off reference to one of the hamsters altering their behaviour to try and impress the girls, but they're all doing it here.
Like guys come down a little bit.

I adore Snoozer. He's the goalie for one of the hamster teams. Which is incredibly unfair to them given that he'll never move an inch in his life.
But it's also just fun to hear one little hamster amongst all the others plainly express how silly it is that they want to have a school for themselves.

''Ah, Yes. A hamster Needs school, like a fish needs a bicycle.''
Snoozer.
