Film Summary DCLXXXIV (Snatch)

How much of this movie was affected by Brad Pitt. Not being able to do an accent.
You have the entire scene involving the ''pikeys'' and everybody talks like they've got a mouth full of marbles. And all supposedly because Brad Pitt just can't do any form of an English accent.

Snatch is one of those unique films that you can watch a hundred times over and never really get bored with.
There's just something about the framing.
Breaking the story off between several different groups and keeping everything going at such a consistent and entertaining pace that you never find yourself bored.
Put on top of that some fantastic acting from a ridiculous all star cast and some surprisingly good comedy, and you got a movie that's just so easy to watch.
Subsequently I don't have anything to say here.
It's already been talked about by everyone else on the planet what's the equivalent of Pulp Fiction (only in England).
I can talk about how I prefer it over Pulp Fiction.
Once again it goes back to pacing. Everything here is quick and fun and to the point. Pulp Fiction has an entire scene involving a diner that I think easily be removed.
But I'm not here to but one film above the other.
Only here to state that Snatch is still really freaking good and it's weird to think that it's now 20 years old.
It might honestly feel dated if it hadn't already felt kind of dated when it came out. This whole movie feels like it wants to go back to a 1970s aesthetic but it only exists to the time that it is somehow it just works.

I remember the first time watching this I thought everybody was so freaking cool.
They had quick-witted dialogue and the overall ''smooth'' style.
But watching it now, it becomes extremely apparent that everyone in this film is a combination of psycho and dorky.
Like half the characters are just a bunch of idiots.
The only reason why you don't pointed out the first time watching it is because they're all so mind-boggling insane or cold-blooded that it really distract you from just how awkward and insecure a lot of these people are.

It's also just nice to watch a movie with Jason Statham as some guy. He hasn't de-evolved into Super action tough man who must never be seen as weak or confused about anything. In this movie he spends 80% of his time either confused by what's going on, frightened by what's going on, or just annoyed that he can't seem to get them Caravan with a workable door.

Oh and there's some deal about sausages.

I don't know what it says about me that I understood 90% of what those pikeys were talking about. Their dialogue might be muffled but it's not fake.
