Film Summary DCLXXXVII (Shaun of the Dead)

A suburban English comedy about a lower middle-class man trying to commit to a long-term relationship and balancing his destructive friendship with a schoolyard buddy.
It's filled with parenting drama, a stagnant work environment and an obsession with spending way too much time at the Winchester Pub.

This is a really well scripted, surprisingly well choreographed, enjoyably put together film.
With some pretty good use of license music and some pretty solid drama.
Oh and there's also zombies. They're here too.

You can remove the zombies from this entire film and you could still more or less recreate this movie with some simple re tweaking.
That's kind of Genius in a way. A good character drama that also has the fun and excitement of dramatic and comedic zombie outbreaks.

Also there's a scene with a biohazard team towards the end of the movie that I swear is a better re-creation of any Resident Evil story than all seven or eight (possibly nine?) actual Resident Evil movies that exist.
Take that for what you will.

Got to love the on the nose metaphor with zombie people turning into real zombies. It's just as ridiculous and fun as the original Dawn of the Dead.
Also you have to love how Eddie technically didn't go through an inch of character development. He started the movie as a lazy good for nothing loafer and at the end he's exact same way, only with slightly reduce motor skills.
But he's less a hindrance on his friend, so I guess that counts for something.
