Film Summary DCCXIII (Deadpool 2)

Oh Deadpool 2 you might act like a different type of comicbook movie but you fall into the same mold.

So I watch this one months ago and I have little to no recollection of it.
Which in a way it's a little funny. As I have nothing negative to really say about it.
It was fun, had good pacing. The humour for the most part was fairly enjoyable. Some people complain about it being kind of out of date given that they were making fun of dubstep or whatever. But I thought it was fine.
Have you ever read a Deadpool comic. Wade Wilson is always slightly out-of-date and it's puns and humour half the time never work out that's oddly enough what makes it kind of fun.

When I finished watching the first Deadpool movie, my thought was; ''Oh boy we got over all this character developments and Exposition about how Deadpool got to be the man that he is today, and now we can finally have a fun and cheeky Deadpool Adventure in the second film.''
But then the second film comes out and at the end of this movie I had the exact same thought.
They keep setting up for one of these basic Deadpool Adventures but then they keep diving us back into serious melodrama (or at least an attempt at melodrama.)
I'm sorry but I just don't give a damn about Deadpool and is now deceased wife.
The chemistry between the two is fine, and their story is decent.
But Deadpool in the comic books marries a whole bunch of people.

From what I remember he was dating a woman who was the personification of the evil underworld {when I kept up with the comic}.
And he also dated Death straight up at one point.
He ended up ticking off that Phanos guy that's so prominent in those other movies now.
I'm still waiting on that cross over.
Even if it was just a miniseries.

Anyways the story here worked out surprisingly well. Deadpool's actions have led to his wife dying and now he's suicidal. The character Cable who is essentially a fill in for plot-holes or contrivances who can either make or break a story has travelled back in time to try and kill this one kid (played by Julian Dennison who was in Hunt for the wilderpeople) and he ends up having to deal with Deadpool the whole time and there's this weird cocky relationship between the two of them.
They both have fairly similar Origins in actual comic books and constantly run into each other within the print.
So it was fun to see them here.
And the guy that played Cable was surprisingly good. Once again everything in the movie works fine it just doesn't really stick with you. I have no particular investment in this Deadpool character and yet I'm more than happy to see a third film come out.

Maybe now after everything that's transpired we can finally get a straight up goofy Deadpool movie where he starts to act like his comic book counterpart. And for all I know that might be a horrible thing, but I'd still like to see it on the big screen.
I'd also like to see Danny DeVito playing a cartoon Pikachu but I know certain things can never be.
