Film Summary DCCXXXVII (Not Another Teen Movie)

I still find it weird that ''Not Another Teen Movie'' is actually good. Like it's not a brilliant spoof movie, it's no Airplane. But it's probably up there with Naked Gun. Naked Gun 2 at the very worst.
And that's not a bad place to be.

Now I know practically nobody in this movie was teenager but I find it especially hilarious that Jaime Pressly is playing a teenager and a preppy Barbie doll one at that.
She fills out the role quite well, it's just strange.
I guess it's not all that out of place when you get down to it. If Stallone can play a greaser teenager in the 1970s then why can't she play the same.

Dennis Quaid got a pretty easy job in this one. Hey just be that annoying redneck character from Independence Day. You're playing the exact same guy.
He doesn't even have to put in as much effort as he did there.

Despite how stupid this movie is Chris Evans is doing a fairly good job. He almost played the straight man in all of this.

Anyways the film itself is fine. Just a hodgepodge of references from every other film Under the Sun.
It's real strength comes from Fairly good acting.
Surprisingly decent comedic pacing and spectacular set design. Some of these sets look exactly the same as the ones from the movie through spoofing.
In fact I wouldn't be surprised if they were the original set.

Really the reason this film work so well is that it can stand alone without the references. It won't be as good if you don't understand what's going on, but you can still enjoy it without seeing any of the previous spoffed films.

Oh and nudity! Lots of titillation!
And Chris Evans covered in whipped cream. That's the one sexy male moment you're going to get.

Is this the last decent spoof movie?

I wonder if anybody kept picture of Chris Evans looking at himself in a picture.
Along with that little plaque beneath it.
I know most film prompts get thrown away but I feel pretty fun one to have I think.
