It's been some time since we've seen the Beyblade kids. Running around the United States, fighting against their best athletes (who also play a spinning top game on the side). Dealing with Max's cold-hearted seemingly emotionless mother.
But all of that's behind them now. The BBA team has beaten the Americans and their scientific calculations and properly executed tactics and now they're on their way to Russia. With the intent of going on to the final challenge.
But on their way they have to deal with some ludicrousy. A group of evil Beybladers who want to destroy the game and eliminate all the Beyblades of the world for some undetermined reason.
There a mythical sect, who's Bit-Beast are based upon mythical horrour monsters who look like they've been scrounged out of an old film archive.
We're talkin vampires, mummies and God knows what else. And there a level stronger than the American team (who would have absolutely been crushed if they somehow made it this far).
Now Tyson and his friends have to do battle with these mysterious malcontents.
Or at least they choose to.
They could have avoided the whole situation and just head off to Russia without engaging. But they want to figure out the mystery and it turns out it's a good idea that they are investigating, as this evil team's goal seems to be to destroy the tournament to begin with. Which means the Beyblade team gets to do double the work for only half the reward.
They end up taking a high velocity train through the tunnel under The Channel between England and France. And are stopped Halfway by the evil team of Beybladers, who somehow took a control the train and stopped in the middle of nowhere.
Where's Walter Matthau when you need him.
So the BBA does battle with the evil Beybladers, The shadow as they call themselves.
And they have to use a bunch of Tricks they learned from a cheap Hollywood film to defeat their enemies*.
It's very convenient that they were watching this movie and it was all so convenient that Rei was able to find a silver American coin on a table.
Especially as after 1964 they don't make their quarters out of silver anymore.
I can Overlook the latter half, but it is still kind of convenient that they had that movie on.
Maybe the Shadow team purposely had that movie running just to see if this Beyblade team from Japan would get the hint.
Anyways Tyson and his friends are able to overcome their adversaries and are about to engage in another battle with the shadow before the authorities come down to check on the train.
Now the kids are heading to Paris as the train has to be taken back to England for repairs. And all the while they're wondering just what it is they're going to encounter in the rest of Europe.
*I love that Max found the horrour movie to be profane. He didn't dislike it on a film basis, there's just something about it that bugs him. Maybe he's Catholic, I don't know
