Well unlike the last two movies, I wasn't tricked into thinking I was watching a Bruce Lee film.
They put his name on the thing despite the fact that it's one of the stuntmen.
And there's nothing wrong with Unicorn Chan.
Once again I prefer if they just put his name out there and let the movie be.
The production history of this thing is a complete mystery to me. The version I watched was highly altered, badly put-together version that looks like it was sitting on a shelf for 20 years before anyone bothered to get it.
There's random shots Bruce Lee in the first 10 minutes and then nothing more.
There's some music from old westerns being from this movie for some random reason.
And I feel like they wanted to make a different movie from the beginning from what they actually did.
I thought the plot was going to revolve around this nefarious woman who ran this criminal organization around her family.
But then she's forgotten about in 30 minutes and instead we follow the path of this Warrior Monk on a quest. He has power to kill people with one touch but refrain from using it.
Pretty standard fare for a lot of martial arts movies. But he's really too generous with his Hospitality. There's a scene where a women alone her brother are being beaten up. They've already been harassed, her brother's nearly dead and he's just sitting there!
Not wanting to get involved because of the ''moral'' code.
Like you already beat the guy up once before, get in there and help her out!
He wants to restrain himself from using his gift because he only wishes to use a technique on the man that took his father and mother's life.
Which he does in the end and it's a bit silly.
This guy turns out to be a thug for the local Family gang and he's some sort of super fighter who can hold his own against anybody.
It doesn't make sense given that he's shown to be a no good hustler at the beginning who's willing to kill his friends for a small bag of gold.
Never really came off as the disciplines type to me.
But then it does make for a better movie and the kung-fu climax to Ward's Berry and is actually pretty good. Most of the film. The fighting is nice but the story really isn't going to keep your interest. Or at least it didn't for me. We spend so much time with these stuttering people. Which is a combination of insulting and a little bit frustrating. Not only do I consider it poor taste, but it's just wasting time. The stuttering guy alone probably takes up about 20% of the entire movie when all he needed to do was take up five.
The dubbing in this movie is to be expected. It's quite low quality and the child actor voice is horrible. A combination of a two bits skamp mixed with an old woman. Just Dreadful.
If you can find this movie subbed you might have a better time. Heck the story might actually be more enticing.
