I wonder what happened to the giant novelty pen.
Did somebody keep it. Is it in a movie back-lot somewhere? Did they really throw it away?
Man everybody hates this movie.
If there's a review show talking about films out there they probably covered 'Cat in the Hat' and it's guaranteed they didn't like it.
It's somehow overproduced and under-produced at the same time. It has ugly colours, bad writing, subpar acting and a Mike Myers who is just rambling a lot of the time.
And yet for all that I didn't hate it.
I was expecting not to like it. I was expecting to turn it off halfway through, giving up on the film.
But there's just not that much here to be super upset about.
It bumbles along, and the pacing (though sporadic) is decent enough for the most part.
It takes a little bit to get going and you don't really give a damn about any of the characters. Cuz there's no real steaks in anything and really no one's likeable.
But the whole Affair is so ridiculous and disconnected from reality that you just stop caring about such things.
You just kind of watch this on spectacle of money and overly creative prop design splatter all over the screen.
It's less ugly than the Grinch. They didn't have the disgusting lack of lip on most of their characters. The Mike Myers cat in the hat costume isn't very good but I guess it's livable.
I mean we live in a post ''Cat'' world now.
Maybe it's just time that made me soften to this movie.
So many real things to be upset about. Seeing a silly Cat in the hat live action movie just isn't worth it. It's more enjoyable than Garfield
I'll give it that.
And yes I would rather watch Mike Myers dressed up as a cat over Bill Murray voicing a cat.
Say what you will about Mike's ridiculous actions, bad monologues and spastic performance. At least it's something.
At least it's got some effort to it.
