Man I was looking forward to this movie.
Ridiculous Kung Fu fighting with the old stereotype Kung Fu Master and a ridiculous foomanchew beard with long white hair.
I had some expectation.
Unfortunately this was one of the most boring and confusing things I've ever watched.
Now I'll be fair some of that is definitely down to the English dubbing and I'm not sure how much of this film was altered from its original production by said dubbing company purposely moving scenes around or cutting things out.
I can't say for sure.
But overall it was just a really dull experience. It might sound ridiculous to say but there's too much Kung Fu action.
People get involved in fights constantly and there's no monologue to build up any character with our protagonists or even the antagonists.
There's a guy with a baby looking for a sacred document which can grant him some sort of power and he has to steal it from this other guy who may have killed his wife in the past. The bad guy lives in a place called The Devil's Hill.
There's also a strange man who steals weapons from Warriors and decides to help out the protagonist for some random reason.
Then there's a bunch of other random characters who all get killed as quickly as they were introduced. So they're not worth bringing up.
That is one thing I'll give this movie, it's not afraid to kill its main cast.
But it also just didn't keep my attention.
Some of that is the fault of the TV cropped version of this movie.
Done with a 4 : 3 aspect ratio, literally cutting out chunks of the film and leading to even more confusion.
I do want to watch this movie again. If I can find a sub version that hasn't been cropped to Hell.
Perhaps it'll turn out to be a fantastic movie, but for the moment it's just playing bad
It almost feels like a TV show that's been badly Cobble together to make a theatrical film.
God I've experienced those several times over the years.
