Film Summary DCCCXV (Mean Girls)

Have you ever watched a movie that you thought would be horribly dated by only a mere couple of years, but then you see that it's about as relevant as it ever has been.
Well that's 'Mean Girls'. terminology, praising hell; even a lot of the fashion is exactly the same stuff we have now.
Except there aren't quite as many cell phones and you can still see some of that 90s skater vibe kicking around.
Then again actual skateboarder seem to be really prominent right now so maybe nothing's changed at all.

Anyways Mean Girls really holds up. It's Still excessively funny, the acting is really solid. It rides this weird line between American Pie comedy and a flat-out spoof.
Never quite committing to either.
And it's honestly kind of wonderful. You'll be sitting there having this dramatic scene of two girls in a dramatically intense situation involving backstabbing and manipulation and then one of them is just hit by a bus.
Out of nowhere with absolutely no warning.
It reminded me of one of those Final Destination movies. Which I'll never be able to look at the same again because they use the exact same car crashing set up as Mean Girls.

I love how Unapologetic the film is too. When they say Mean Girls they mean every girl.
Everyone's manipulative backstabbing conniving in some way it all revolves around the queen of the Plastics ''Regina'' who's the most conniving of them all and yet might be least mean of everybody when you really get down to it.

Well excluding her friends who where just kind of air heads wandering around with little to no impact on anything.
But you compare Regina against our star protagonist or her little dorky art friend; Regina comes off as the most direct of the three.
She's mean but she doesn't hide it, while the other two are excessively manipulative*.
One of which is supposed to be this weirdo naïve girl from '''Africa'''! Of which we never get any specified areas.
It's just Africa, like writing a stereotype story about David Livingstone wandering the continent.

*So I get that Regina is manipulative in the movie especially with phone calls or she secretly has three-way conversations without the others knowing. But everybody already knows about her deceitful nature from the onset.
