Film Summary DCCCXIX (The Italian Connection)

The Italian connection is a film about these two random Mobsters sent to Northern Italy to hunt down this random pimp and brutally kill him to make an example of some sort of drug smuggling operation that the New York Mobsters got screwed over by because of the mafia in the Milan.

Or at least that's what the first 30 minutes of the movie is about. But then we switch over to the pimp (a man named Luca Canali).
And the rest of the film is circled around him.
He has a wife and a daughter who he's estranged from.
He runs a really low key prostitution business where every girl seems to give him whip about their current situation.
The movie wants us to sympathize with the guy, but he's just a low-grade crook and it's only with the death of his wife and daughter.

The first half of Lucas story it's just him wandering around dealing with his everyday pimping life while being hunted by men he doesn't even know exist. Whilst the second half is a Revenge fantasy in where he hunts down the mafia he works for and kills a bunch of people after they murdered his family.
And then just for extra measure he hunts down the two Americans from the beginning of the movie as a kind of final wrap up.

It's a bit of a sloppy film and I feel like it would have done better just to stick with one of these points as opposed to several.
Have a movie revolving around the two Americans hunting down this sleaze ball. Or have the story of a pimp trying to survive the Endeavor. I didn't see much point in introducing a Revenge element, it just adds on the running time.
Although it does give us the best moments in the movie involving a high-speed car chase turned foot chase and some mildly decent actually seems after that.
Even tho they don't feel that natural given our protagonist is the slubby pimp who out of nowhere becomes John Rambo.
Also this movie has kitten death in it.
So if you don't like the idea of a cat dying, I'd avoid this movie like the plague.

Overall I found it to be an enjoyable action crime film. It has an extremely large amount of nudity and some gratuitous violence to some of the random hookers that became just a little too over-the-top.
The whole thing started leading into exploitation with how much nudity and pointless violence to said girls.
